Community-Wide Job Fair (Employer Signup)

A Community-Wide Job Fair will be held Thursday, November 12 at the Prizery, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Partners of the event include the Halifax County Chamber of Commerce, Dan River Region Collaborative, South Boston Virginia Workforce Center, Virginia Employment Commission, Central Virginia Rapid Response, Industrial Development Authority of Halifax County, Southern Virginia Higher Education Center, and Southside Virginia Community College.

Job seekers who have attained their National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) will be allowed early admission from 10:00 am – 11:00 am. Those interested in attending should pre-register online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/HalifaxJobFair2015 or visit the South Boston Virginia Workforce Center at 2506 Houghton Avenue, South Boston.

An Employment Prep Workshop will be held on Thursday, November 5, 10:00 am – noon or 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Southern Virginia Higher Education Center’s Innovation Center. Topics include: Resume Building; Interviewing and the Follow-up Process; and Importance of NCRC. What can this certification mean for you?
